If you’ve been selling on Amazon for a while you’re aware of the fact that the returns process can be a bit messy. Sometimes buyers, intentionally or unintentionally, return their order and the box doesn’t contain what you shipped to them. This guide will walk you through what to do to receive a reimbursement.
1. Gather all relevant information
You’re going to need a couple of things before you can get started:
Shipment identification - Amazon will need the Order ID Number, Tracking Number, and the packaging the item was returned in (so take a picture).
The faulty returned item - Hold onto this and photograph it from different angles.
Write down the details - Write a letter about the situation and include the status of the reimbursement.
2. File your Claim
Once you’ve prepared your documentation it’s time to reach out to Amazon.
File a SafeT Claim - It will ask for the above information in a file format. If you have a letter written up make sure to process it into a PDF format.
3. Final Steps
Now it’s time to sit back and wait for Amazon to file your claim.
Stay in Communication – Keep an eye out for email updates from Amazon in case they ask additional questions or provide you with the updated status of your claim.
